We have the following 2 vacancies:-
A. Secretary/Receptionist:
This is a full time position, beginning in about May 2010, initially for a fixed contract of 6 months to cover maternity leave.
Required technical skills
1. Ability to use our telephone switchboard and fax machine
2. Ability to use Outlook, Word and IT generally
3. Ability to audio type, using our digital dictation system
4. Ability to undertake some administrative tasks
5. Experience in a solicitors’ office would be preferred.
Required personal skills
1. Calm, professional demeanour
2. Ability to work under some pressure
3. Manage incoming calls and visitors to the office
4. Helpful and caring attitude
5. Politeness
6. Never to be rude, grumpy, surly or disrespectful
7. Always to maintain confidentiality
8. Ability to use initiative

10. Understanding of client experience requirements

B. Residential and Commercial Property Solicitor
This vacancy is for an experienced solicitor to deal with commercial and residential property transactions and arises as a result of the impending retirement of 2 long standing part-time members of the firm’s property department. So that the successful candidate may develop a case load and assist with the development of the property department, this is a full time permanent position. Familiarity with Word, Outlook, and IT generally, as well as the Lexcel and IIP standards would be preferred.
