First meeting
It would be very helpful if you could bring to the first meeting the following documents:-
- Evidence of Identity, for example Driving Licence or Passport.
- Evidence of address e.g. Council Tax Notice or utility bills bearing your name (excluding bills for mobile phones which are not acceptable).
- Details of your income – please bring your most recent payslips (for the month prior to and the month of the visit), Tax Credit award letters, details of any pensions or Benefits paid to you.
- Details of property owned jointly or individually, together with a rough estimate of value.
- Details of bank accounts held jointly or in sole names, including savings and any other assets.
- Details of outgoings and any debts.
We will advise you at our first meeting if you are likely to qualify for Legal Aid and we will give you the names of firms in the area who still do legal aid work.
